Green Wrythe Primary School

Pupil Parliament and School teams

Pupil Parliament

Every year, children from year 6 are democratically voted into Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister positions. They are ably supported by members of parliament from all year groups.  These children help to organise and fundraise for some enrichment activities and resources within the school, such as lunchtime playground equipment and events like Green Wrythe's Got Talent.

This year the Greenshaw Learning Trust are strengthening pupil voice by introducing a GLT Primary Parliament. Our Prime Minister and Deputy will meet with other children in the Trust to understand how a MAT works and to focus on shared priorities of Belonging and Sustainability.

  • Belonging: inclusion, peer support and respect

  • Sustainability: reducing waste, gardening projects and saving energy

School Teams

All children are allocated a school team and earn points throughout the week for their team.  The team with the highest points at the end of each half-term are given a reward. Points can be awarded for good behaviour; polite manners; and learning.

The school teams are:  Lions (Red); Tigers (Yellow); Panthers (Green); Leopards (Blue)
